Hotpad

This is my latest crochet project that I got from Ravelry. I had a little trouble figuring out how to put it all together so I have a video here showing how it is done.

Mother Daughter Luncheon at Beth Haven Baptist Church

On Sat. May 3 we had a mother daughter luncheon at my church. All three of my daughters came and we had a great time.
Mrs Mullis and her Daughter Gitano invited us to sit at their table and it was decorated so beautiful. She gave everyone at her table a keychain and a boxed cake as gifts. Wasn't that sweet of them.
The speaker was Mrs Penny Andrews and she also sang some beautiful songs. I love to hear Penny sing .She was a part of the Gethsemane Quartet for many years and then her and her husband went out one their own and she sang and he did recitations. Her husband( Floyd) went to be with the Lord a few years ago and now she goes out on her own. She has a great ministry.
Here are a few pictures of the occasion. The picture on the left is of me and my daughters which are named on the photo. The picture at the top left is Penny Andrews and the one at top right is Mrs Mullis and her daughter Gitano.

Hand Surgery

My surgery on Feb. 25 went very well. I only needed pain medicine on that day. It was my right hand which is the one I use mostly because I am right handed. I was very surprised how quickly I adapted to using my left hand. On Thursday I could use my right hand some which felt really good.I did drive myself to the store Sat. with no trouble. I have one more week of the bandage and am looking forward to getting it off.
I really miss doing my needlework. Friday my daughter came to visit and she has a new crochet pattern for a pot holder. It is so pretty and I can't wait to make it.
So happy knitting to everyone and Good Lord Willing I will be back with all of you putting my needles and hooks to good use. God Bless All

Carpal Tunnel Surgery

Smileycons! Today I am going to have surgery on my right hand at 3 o'clock. Needless to say I won't be doing any knitting or crochet for two weeks. It is going to be hard to not be able to pick up my needlework as I usually do something almost every day.

I am hoping this surgery works as my hands get numb so much. My right hand is worse as it gets numb when driving ,sleeping and drying my hair and needlework. I am constantly putting my hand down and getting the feeling back when I am crocheting. It is the same with knitting but not quite as bad.

I am not looking forward to my right hand being out of commission for two weeks so if anyone reads this and has any suggestions I would appreciate any advice.
I would appreciate it if you would remember me in your prayers.

Happy knitting to all and I will be back to my needlework in two weeks.

My new row counter or marker

I started a sweater recently and was having a little trouble keeping up with the rows. The pattern has a six row repeat but the way it works out I couldn't tell where I was at in the pattern because it is made up of ridges.

I was telling my daughter Connie about it and her head started buzzing. She said well let me think about this,I can probably make you a marker to help you out.

So that is just what she did and here is a picture of the marker and the sweater so far.

Thank you Connie for being so willing to help me out. I would never have learned how to knit if it weren't for you and I appreciate that because I have always wanted to learn but never did.
